The workshop is adressed at healthcare professionals specialized in internal medicine or infectious diseases, specialists in emergency and intensive care units, professionals involved in antibiotic and other antimicrobial prescription and stewardship programs as well as microbiology specialists and researchers.
The increase in antimicrobial-resistant microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses, is a growing problem and threatens the sustainability of effective public health responses to prevent and treat infectious diseases.
It aims at providing a comprehensive overview on the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant microorganisms, focusing on how to prevent or minimize the problem of multi-resistance and updating about therapeutic management of MDR.
