The International Human Microbiome Consortium (IHMC) Congress is a major scientific event that takes place every other year. IHMC was founded in 2008 by an agreement between DG Research & Innovation of the European Union and the National Institutes of Health of the United States and is now supported by major public research funding agencies all over the world (Europe, US, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc.).
The program of the Congress includes the latest scientific developments and a variety of activities of interest for early-stage to senior researchers, clinical professionals, academia, and industry. This will be the 8th edition of the IHMC Congress and it will be held virtually.
The IHMC Congress was created to generate a shared comprehensive data resource that will enable investigators a better understanding of the human microbiome; thereby the congress promotes data sharing and networking between research groups and engages them to find collaborative health solutions.
The day the Congress starts, Sunday 27th of June, coincides with the World Microbiome Day. To celebrate this day, a variety of activities will be organized and will be open to the general public to broaden their awareness of the microbiome and their effects.
