Jordi Blanch Andreu obtained a Medicine and Surgery degree and a Philosophy degree at the University of Barcelona. He obtained a Ph.D. in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Barcelona and specialized in Psychiatry at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.
His current professional category is level 2 consultant of the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and category A of the Sant Joan de Déu Health Complex.
Dr. Blanch was Section Head of the Eixample Esquerra Mental Health Center, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, until 2015. He was a medical coordinator at the Numància Mental Health, Sant Joan de Déu Health Complex, until 2017. Currently, since 2017, he is Director of the Health Department Mental Health and Addictions Plan of the Catalonia Government of Catalonia.
Dr. Jordi Blanch's special areas of interest focus on the psychiatric and psychological pathology associated to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and other serious medical illnesses ( such as cancer, hematological diseases, bone marrow and organs transplants). He is also interested in the depressive disorder in patients with medical comorbidity.
